Isaac Pagan has spent his career seeing both sides of the agency-client relationship.

From Ogilvy to Pepsi to Isaac’s current role as Executive Creative Director at Turtle Beach, he's learned that great creative leadership is about building trust, letting go of ego, and staying curious. Here are three lessons that stuck with me.

LESSON: The best leaders stop trying to do everything themselves.

Isaac realized a big part of leadership is about giving talented people the space to surprise you. The more he let go of control, the more his teams—and the work—grew.

LESSON: Great client relationships feel like teammates versus transactions.

The strongest agency-client partnerships aren't built in presentations. They're built through trust, honest conversations, and shared ownership. When everyone feels like they're solving the same problem, better work happens faster.

LESSON: Conviction and stubbornness aren't the same thing.

Fight for ideas you believe in, but don't mistake ego for conviction. The best creatives know when to stand their ground and when to let the best idea win—no matter who came up with it.
